How to prepare crab curry

Many people would say that crab is one of the most delicious food. In India crab is cooked as curry or crab is fried. Here I will write down how to prepare crab curry in south Indian style.

Some nutrition facts about crab:

Crab is good source for Vitamin C and contains very low saturated fat. Crab is good source for protein, alcium, Copper and Zinc. The down side of crab is that the crab meat is high in Cholestrol and also contains quite high sodium.

Ingredients to make crab curry:

Cooking oil 1 table spoon

Salt to taste

Crab 750 g

Chilli powder 1 table spoon

Coriander powder 3 table spoon

Fresh coconut 1 small cup

Sombu (anise) powder 1 table spoon

Garlic 3 cloves

Tomato 1

Small onion 5

Tamarind size of lemon

Fenugreek 1 table spoon

Method to make crab curry:

1. Clean the crab

2. Grind the coconut and garlic and make them as paste

3. Soak the tamarind in water and squeeze out the juice from it

4. Add turmeric powder, sombu powder, grinded paste, salt, coriander powder and chilli powder to the tamarind juice mixture.

5. Heat the cooking oil and add fenugreek and sombu seed

6. After the fenugreek and sombu seed starts splitting, add onion and tomato to saute

7. Add the cleaned pieces of crab

8. Also add the tamarind juice-spices mixture 

9. Allow it to cook for 30 minutes.

Now you have a tasty crab curry ready for your lunch or dinner.
